Nowhere girl

Lasciviously provoking the universe, a witch once asked: “He is not coming back, right?”

The girl that came from nowhere
Learned how to dance
When her world was
Turned upside down.
When she was found
The earth moved again
With forces reaching
For skin,
As she whispers:
“You can’t leave me now, ‘cause I’ve unlearned how to breathe.”

The girl that has nowhere to go
Is awake in a dream
And waits in the
Flickering ray
Of a street light
Promising nightmares,
So you kiss her goodbye,
As she says:
“You can’t leave me now, ‘cause I’ve unlearned how to sleep.”

The nowhere girl loves with a flame
That burns on its own.
“You can’t leave me now,
‘cause I’m almost there!”
With f lame
Eating up skin,
Damning thoughts.
“But you can’t leave me now,
Or I’ll never be there.”
With a hunger that bites
And a pain that glows
In eyes so empty
But filled with dreams
With a thorn.

“You can’t leave me now”,
She begs,
Drowning out footsteps
Breaking the ice
While moving away,
“’cause I’ve unlearned how to live.”
