Going down in flames is not as much fun as it may seem to a heart aching in Dystopia.
Typing these words, my thoughts return to the nice man wearing a silver west over a fine shirt while explaining the model of a candle light and pointing out the 1300°C it could reach, and oh! I was on fire back then!
But since I have been writing so much about all these precious, magical and unique things which have been going down in flames, I will now try to write a short and simple guide about how to avoid all of this.
This is a short guide for not losing heart and soul in flames and ashes!
Can‘t be that difficult, right?
So, let‘s get started. Once again, I am basing all of this on my extensive and not at all soul-eating and depressing research about the being of witches and why they have to burn (thanks Heinrich!).
- Don‘t daydream!
Yes, excessive daydreams are dangerous as hell! They lure your thoughts away from what you‘re actually doing right in that moment, making it easier to discover something not being alright, or even something else to pursuit. This makes it safer not to ever dream at all, because dreams matter far too much in witching!
- Don‘t wish for things
When was the last time a fairy appeared in front of you, ready to grant you a wish? Very long ago, probably, if ever. That is because wishes are just another way to escape reality and turn things upside down. Wishes are just an innocent from of daydreams, and thus are the safest to be avoided.
- Stop needing things
A Vanilla Latte in the morning? A midnight snack? Calling a friend after hours? Watching just another episode? Do you really need any of these things? Well, if you listen to your whiny heart, it will probably try to convince you so, but that is just a trap. You better realize that actually you do not ever need any of these things at all.
- Don‘t have a voice too high
…and resist the temptation to sing out loud. Because witches have always been known too have the highest and sweetest voices of all, and to use them to get their wicked ways. Don‘t sound like them, and don‘t sing or hum any sweet melody ever crossing your mind.
That sounds tough to accomplish? Oh well. Just keep things simple.
Enjoy your life through not even expecting anything really good to ever happen. Work hard on being the pretty but not too beautiful asset. Nice to look at, but actually quite redundant.
If you don‘t want to go down in flames, that‘s all it takes!
The latest Dystopia confusion – or what vaccines, glasses, and sunscreen suddenly have in common.
Confusion is one of the most important aspects of Dystopia. It’s this state of the world that keeps burning into the skin like a nervous flickering – and suddenly you’ve bought frog legs from the weirdo at the end of the road, while your neighbour was hanged for a miscarriage 20 years ago. Let’s name…
Keeping the connection – About taking the next step
I remember standing on the same field where I spent most of the past unnerving months. Listening to the same three accords throughout a song reminded me of time passing, of the feeling of spending time with people while doing something special together. Studying for an exam, rehearsing a song, going on a trip -…
