Tale about losing a heart

“Oh, what am I doing to my heart.”

… A witch once asked herself,
after climbing the city wall,
While embracing the distance
Of foreign tree tops and hills,
The lights of houses in her back,
Welcoming the shadow waiting for her,
Losing hold and jumping down,
Into untamed grass,
Reaching for his shadow hand,
Being pulled away
From rooftops and street lights,
Looking into eyes
Which will never let go of her soul,
Making her forget
About the bed waiting
And the man keeping on the lights
To catch her secret.

“What am I doing to my heart”, she sighed.
“Your heart?”, the shadow asked.

This is how you lose it.
