I am a published witch! Writing update.

At least a little bit. This is not a surprising update on the witching novel yet, but something happened that made me feel as if I got a little bit closer to that dream! A piece of flash fiction of mine was accepted for publication!

It was not the short story I have been trying to place somewhere in the past few months. Those four attempts have been unsuccessful so far. The one that was accepted was much more spontaneous. After crafting a haunted tale for weeks, it’s the spontaneous ideas that win in the end … The universe has a weird sense of humor.

I wrote this one when I was in Budapest this July, and things were not going as planned. I felt lost and lonely in the most beautiful city that I had once loved so much, and in the end I even lost someone very close to me. While contemplating all of this, I also remembered the deadline of a submission call, and so I sat there typing in 40°C depression cave that wasn’t mine. I am so glad something good came out of this! Lost a lover, but got published in English for the first time. Could be much worse.

This is the link to my story “What I’ve heard about the hatter’s wife”! Being accepted for “Gossip Horror” is so wonderfully witchy, and I am so honored to be places among these great writers!
